Easter has come and gone and my daughter has a ton of candy and eggs. Since the holiday has passed we must get back to work and enjoy egg salad sandwiches for a few days.
Today we have started back on the task of setting everything up. It has been a great and wonderful experience. We have added categories to the photo gallery and classifieds. We also have begun testing the site and even created a poll.
As far as advertising the site we have continued with squidoo and also created a feed burner account that will automatically grab the blogs posted on alpacaspace and make them available to a wider audience. On squidoo we created a group for alpaca related sites and lenses. You can find that group here. We think it would be a great idea for every farm to create a lens and join the group. Not only will it give your farm another way to promote it will also give you a opportunity to meet new people committed to the alpaca community. You can build as many lenses that you would like. Example you could create one for your farm and one for your products you sell. It is just another way to get the word out to the public.
One of our features is the event section. A farm or organization can post their event and members of alpacaspace can let the event poster know if they will be attending right here on the site. There is a calender view of the events listings and the listings can be searched by state, city, postal code, keywords, and type of event listed.
